About me

About me

Hi, my name is Sriya and I am 17 years old. I am the eldest of 3 siblings and I was born on the icy cold winter day of the 8th of December, in the struggling yet still incredible Ealing hospital. Now I go to school at Notting Hill and Ealing High school, where I have made friends for life and teachers that I aspire to have the resilience of.

Family

I live with my parents and my two siblings, the cutest brother and a sister who is my friend but also the person who has pulled out half of the hair on my head in the span of 12 years.

Music

I have a range of hobbies, many that I spend doing with my siblings, including singling, watching our favourite series and badminton sometimes when the days are sunny. I share my love for my favourite singers Ariana Grande and Rihanna with my siblings, by teaching my brother the whole of Ariana’s Sweetener, including no tears left to cry which Krishaan knows every word to. Albums and singing and dancing in numerous karaoke’s with my sister.

Places

Travelling is a great hobby of mine also, travelling to the alps of Switzerland to the Hills of Dhunge gaun and the desserts of Egypt but more than a tourist would like to experience travelling in a way that is less tourism based but a way in which in which I understand the culture and way of living of the people living in the country.  In the future, I see a career in healthcare, but more than that I would like to travel the world, ranging from the depths of the amazon rainforest, to the Himalayan mountains where I want to learn about every culture I possibly can as well as assisting them as much as I can care wise, medically and psychology.

Passion

I have a great passion for social justice, and my proudest moment was putting a blog up online with one of my best friends, where we talk about child marriage, the need for diversity in the media as well as period stigma and honour killings. I am very interested in this field of social justice as I have seen the implications of all the injustices done to women, many members of my family suffering from it too, such as the fact that my grandmother was married off at the age of 8, to the fact that whenever I go to Nepal I always see the injustices done to women and children whether it be the implications of society or poverty.
